Ride a cross-check also. Like your setup. Mine is currently set up for road, been riding a lot of road lately, but it was originally a single speed with 38 nobbies and occasionally I get to set it up to ride it off road for ice biking or trail.
Just stumbled here while reading up on the Trans Iowa. Hope you had a good time. Have yet to read all your posts on the subject.
