FOGGY GRAVEL RIDE

Warm weather(36F) and fog this weekend. The sun came out this afternoon so I went out for some sloppy gravel travel. About halfway through the ride, the fog rolled back in heavy. Lucky for me, there wasn't too much traffic out on a Sunday. I single-speeded the Karate Monkey, since the winter has been trashing my drivetrain and I was getting a lot of ghost shifting yesterday. No worries for me as I go way back with one speeding. I only started riding gears a couple years ago. My gearing ( 32 x 18 ) was juuust riiiiight for todays ride.
Cooking my lunch.
Yummy!
In other news: I officially dropped out of the Trans-Iowa race and volunteered to work at one of the check-points instead. Now I have no pressure to train for the race and I ride as little or as much as I want too.

More gravel road goodness. Is the monkey the most versatile bike ever made? BTW, how quick do your racks come off and on?

hjalti,

I think the Pugsley might be the only bike more versatile the Monkey. I don't think I spent more than 10 minutes getting the racks off. I left the adapters on the fork for the Nice Rack, so it'll be easy to put it back on. Not sure why I pulled the racks off... just felt like riding a stripped down bike for awhile.

Squirrel,
I want to try some winter camping too, but I don't have the gear for it yet.
