Weekend Camping
It was windy but nice Saturday most of the day, but rained and stormed all night. Sideways rain... blew through my tent vents and a couple seams were dripping a little by morning. I was dry and warm in my Gortex bivy. Broke camp in the rain and got SOAKED on the ride home this morning.
Supper = Vienna sausages and instant coffee
Tent = GoLite Hex 3 Tipi
Bike = Surly Pugsley

Sweet!! Nice to get away for a bit!!
Things look somewhat dry, how long have you been snowless??
Pedal on!
Peace
We've lost a lot of snow in the last week. It's pretty much gone in the open, but the woods and shaded trails are full. The driveway of where I camped still had a 3 foot high snow/ice drift that I had to launch the bike over.
That's cool.
They just issued a blizzard warning for our area for Tuesday through Wednesday......8 plus " of the wet heavy white stuff!! Winter does not look like it'll go away!! Lol
Hey Joe,
Have you ever heard of Ray Jardine? He started GoLite (among a zillion other incredible accomplishments) and wrote an awesome book called Trail Life (2009).
If you haven't already, I suggest you read it; it's interesting, funny, makes sense, and is written in a format that appeals to "engineering" type people.
Chris, I no who Ray is but never read his book. I didn't know he started GoLite. I'll have to look for the book. Thanks!
