I camped out again last night. Temps were around 70 when I got out the park around 6pm. Lows for the night were only in the mid 50's. It was probably the best night of sleep I've ever had camping. I'm loving my new hammock, a Warbonnet Blackbird.
If you're using the hammock you must like it. I'm wondering about hammocks. Is it comfortable enough to sleep all night? Do you sleep diagonally, and if so- is that really flat? Is it a workable replacement for a tent? It looks nicely sheltered tucked up in that tarp.
I've been using a hammock for a year now. If I'm warm enough, I can sleep all night. You have to use a pad or underquilt if it's cold out, or you'll be cold. Yeah, you sleep diagonally in them, and you lay pretty flat. Yep, it's a replacement for a tent, but you gotta have trees to hang from. You should try one out some time.
