Ridin', Fishin', Flatin'...

New Surly front rack and Surly Torsion Bar on the Cross Check this weekend. Love the rack! Love the bars! We did a bunch of biking and fishing over the weekend. Flatted just as we got to Spring Park on Friday. Put our lines in the water and changed my tube, only to find that my spare was flat too. Nothing left to do but fish and call for a ride when we were done.

Long distance runner what you standing there for?

Get up, get off, get out of the door

My Surly Cross Check is now in it's post TransIowa mode, in which it will stay most of the time. I have it set up for commuting, country cruisin', and easy trail rides. Flat pedals let me ride in flip-flops or dress shoes. The Rivendell Dove bars let me sit upright, so I won't miss any of the scenery here in Northern Iowa. I've been feeling more than a little guilty after reading other's stories about TransIowa. I was able to get back on the bike Monday and ride without any pain or discomfort. In fact, my legs felt stronger than ever this week. Maybe I should have pushed it harder or farther on the TransIowa race. Later....
