23FEB08

20 degrees and 25 miles of snowy gravel today. I rode down to Idlewild park and back. I'd love to get down in the park, but the snow is too deep. I need to look for some xc skis or snow shoes for next winter.
Some sled tracks going into the park.

16FEB08

Nothing too exciting to talk about. As you know, the winter is dragging on and there has not been many nice weekends to ride. I got out this morning for a couple hours of gravel and wind. It was 6F when I left, and 16F two hours later, though I was cold enough I couldn't tell the difference. Bikes are freedom! Get some!

ALTERNATIVE ENERGY

I rode north of Mitchell today to check out the new windmill going up. I rolled through Mitchell on the way back and took a break on the bridge over the Cedar River. The dam was refurbished years ago and now powers the town, plus sells the excess electricity back to the power company. My Surly Karate Monkey is powered by coffee, ramen noodles, and candy bars. The weather was great today! 25 degrees when I left and very little wind. I felt like I could've rode all day.
